M3U vs Xtream Codes: Which IPTV Login Should You Use?

Updated November 02, 2026By Zorba IPTV Pro team

When you get your Zorba IPTV Pro login you’ll see two formats. Both give you the same channels — they just work differently in your app.

Xtream Codes API

Username + password + server URL. Loads live TV, movies and series in separate sections, with the EPG automatically. Best choice for most people.

M3U playlist

One long link containing everything. Works in almost any player (VLC, SS IPTV). Often needs a separate EPG link.

Which to use

  • Firestick / Android TV / phones: Xtream Codes in IPTV Smarters or TiviMate.
  • Smart TV playlist apps: M3U (or MAC activation).
  • PC / Mac in VLC: M3U.
  • MAG box: neither — a portal URL linked to your MAC.

Keep it private

Both formats contain your login. Don’t post them online — shared links get blocked.

What each one looks like

Xtream Codes: three fields — server URL (for example http://server.example:8080), username and password.

M3U: a single URL ending in something like get.php?username=...&password=...&type=m3u_plus. The m3u_plus version includes channel logos and groups.
