Buffering is the most common IPTV complaint — and in most cases it’s caused at home, not by the service. Work through this list from top to bottom.
- Restart everything. Unplug router and device for 60 seconds.
- Use Ethernet. A cable (or an Ethernet adapter for Firestick) fixes most buffering instantly.
- Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi if you can’t use a cable, and move the router closer or add a mesh point.
- Run a speed test on the device itself (not your phone). See speed requirements.
- Lower the quality — switch from 4K to FHD or HD.
- Clear the app cache (Settings > Apps > your player > Clear cache).
- Increase the buffer size in the player (TiviMate: Settings > Playback > Buffer size).
- Change the player’s video decoder (hardware/software) and test again.
- Check other users on your network — downloads and 4K streams eat bandwidth.
- Ask support. Send us the channel name and time — we’ll check the stream on our side.
Only one channel buffers?
That points to the stream, not your network. Tell us which channel on WhatsApp and we’ll fix or switch the source.
Diagnose in 60 seconds
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Every channel buffers | Home network / Wi-Fi | Ethernet, restart router, lower quality |
| Only in the evening | Peak-time congestion | Larger buffer, FHD instead of 4K |
| One channel only | That stream | Tell support the channel name |
| Picture freezes, sound continues | Decoder / device | Switch hardware/software decoder, clear cache |
| Starts fine then stops after minutes | Two devices on one connection | Close the other stream or add a screen |
FAQ
Why does IPTV buffer at night?
Evening is peak time for home networks and ISPs. Ethernet, a lower quality setting and a larger player buffer help most.
Does a VPN fix buffering?
Sometimes it helps if your provider throttles video traffic, but it can also slow things down. Test with and without.
